What is Economic group (grupo econômico)?

An economic group is a set of companies under common direction, control or management — or, after the Reform, in coordination with integrated interest among them (art. 2º, §2º and §3º, of the CLT). The members answer jointly for labor obligations.

The mere identity of shareholders is not enough: a demonstration of integrated interest and joint operation is required.
