What is Quantum debeatur (amount owed)?
Also: quantum debeatur · amount owed · quantum
Quantum debeatur is “how much is owed” — the value of the conviction. It stands opposite the an debeatur (“whether it is owed”), settled in the merits phase. The quantum is determined in liquidation, with interest and restatement.
Separating the two is essential: a claim may be owed (an), but its value (quantum) depends on the proof and the calculation — and that is where much of the dispute lies.
How LABORIS AI uses it
LABORIS AI separates the whether owed (jurimetrics/probability) from the how much (liquidation), avoiding inflating the exposure with the estimate from the statement of claim.
