What is Reply to defense (réplica)?

Also: réplica · impugnação à contestação · reply

A reply is the claimant’s answer to the statement of defense. Opened when the defense raises preliminary objections or files documents (arts. 350 and 351 of the CPC, applied subsidiarily), it is the moment to challenge the company’s evidence and reaffirm the claims against the defensive arguments.

In labor procedure the reply is often oral, reduced to the record at the hearing, or filed in writing when there are documents to address. It fixes the adversarial debate over the evidence and sets the stage for the taking of proof.

How LABORIS AI uses it

LABORIS AI organizes the sequence of pleadings in each case and identifies where the controversy concentrates — which claims remain genuinely disputed after the reply — directing attention to what actually decides the outcome.
