What is Summary procedure (rito sumaríssimo)?
Also: rito sumaríssimo · procedimento sumaríssimo · summary procedure
Summary procedure is the accelerated track for lower-value claims. It applies to claims of up to forty minimum wages (arts. 852-A to 852-I of the CLT), with a liquidated claim, a single hearing concentrating conciliation, defense and evidence, a limit on witnesses and a judgment with concise reasoning. A large share of labor claims runs under this track.
The speed changes strategy: there is less room for evidentiary delay and the defense must be ready at the very first hearing. The short timeline also brings the outcome forward — and with it, the moment to choose between settling and litigating.
How LABORIS AI uses it
LABORIS AI factors the track into projecting the case’s pace and the decision window, flagging in advance the hearings at which, under summary procedure, everything is decided at once.
