What is Superior Labor Court (TST)?

Also: TST · Tribunal Superior do Trabalho · Superior Labor Court

The TST is the apex court of the Labor Justice system (art. 111-A of the CF). Above the Regional Labor Courts, it is charged with unifying the interpretation of labor law — a role it exercises mainly through the judgment of the appeal of review and the issuance of precedent summaries and jurisprudential guidelines.

Its theses guide every lower instance: knowing the TST’s settled position on an award is to anticipate the ceiling of what each court tends to decide.

How LABORIS AI uses it

LABORIS AI anchors the reading of each argument in the TST’s settled understanding and measures, against that backdrop, how each Regional Court and each court actually decide — the distance between superior case law and local practice is often where the risk lies.
